How to Delete Your Temporary/Cache Files
Sometimes, when you are trying to display a page, the information might not be refreshed correctly
(e.g.: the information appears to be outdated). In such situations,
you might need to click Refresh/Reload and/or delete your
temporary/cache files. If you are using Internet Explorer
(e.g.: Internet Explorer Version 6):
- Close all other Internet Explorer windows.
- Select pulldown menu Tools, Internet Options. (The Internet Options
window should open.)
- On the General tab, click "Delete Files". (The Delete Files window
should open.)
- Ensure there is NO check mark beside "Delete all offline content".
- Click "OK". (The hourglass pointer might appear for a few seconds,
depending on how many cached files need to be deleted. The Delete
Files window will close, and the Internet Options window will remain
open.)
- On the General tab, click "Delete Files" (yes, again). (The Delete
Files window should open.)
- Ensure there is a check mark beside "Delete all offline content".
- Click "OK". (The hourglass pointer might appear for a few seconds,
depending on how many cached files need to be deleted. The Delete
Files window will close, and the Internet Options window will remain
open.)
- On the Internet Options window, click "OK". (The Internet Options
window should close.)
- Click "Refresh".
If you are using Netscape (e.g.: Netscape Communicator 4.78):
- Close all other Netscape Navigator windows.
- Select pulldown menu Edit, Preferences. (The Preferences window
should open.)
- Expand category "Advanced" (i.e.: click on the plus sign).
- Click "Cache".
- Click "Clear Memory Cache".
- If you receive a confirmation message, click "OK".
- Click "Clear Disk Cache".
- If you receive a confirmation message, click "OK".
- In the Preferences window, click "OK".
- Click "Reload".
