"Pies of December"

In late June of 2020, was thinking of smiles from merely six and eight months before.... Sung to the tune of "Try to Remember", especially Harry Belafonte's version.

"Pies of December"

Try to remember the pies of December
When teams would flow and be so mellow...
Try to remember the thanks of October:
Salads of green and sweet potato...
Try to remember the smiles of September:
Trip stories were young and a rainbow hallow...
Try to remember, and do not surrender;
No sorrow:  Mambo....

Try to remember when hugs were so tender,
A happy pressed -- more joy than Jello...
Try to remember when touch was a treasure
That smiles proclaimed until night's pillow...

Try to remember when handshakes, a pleasure;
No glove, no censor; soothing like Aloe...
Try to remember (despite the dispenser)
Then motto:  "Bravo!...."

Deep in the ponder it helps to remember,
Although you know the low will wallow;
Deep in "Whatever...", this isn't forever;
A thought is heard, your heart's a halo....

Deep in the somber it helps to remember
The hugs of December that made you Hero....
Deep in this monster our hearts should remember...
Be pronto:  "Hello!...."
